You are different. Most boys don't pick up stray kittens and find homes for them. Your mom probably is disappointed that you don't meet her standards of a son.
Just stay out of her way, and don't think. She wants you to be her puppet and do what she says at any cost. I am serious.
I used to have the same problem, I had to learn to just do what the hell I was told until I was old enough to move out. This too, shall pass.
You bought the kittens in and hid them even though your Dad is allergic. No wonder she went ballistic! Look, it's their home, you are the kid, they are the parent.
You have to follow some rules, it's not "do what you want, it doesn't matter" - that attitude gets you in a whole heap of trouble. Threatening to run away is not too bright. What would you do?
Live on the streets, steal to live? Stay with friends? That gets tired quick, people want you to leave soon enough.
Try and stick it out, when you have a job and money coming in you can get your own place and see what it's REALLY like out there - then you might begin to realize WHY your parents get short tempered.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
