My puppy cries and barks while in the crate why?

This depends on lots of things. How old your puppy is, how you placed him in the crate in the first place, or if your puppy associates the crate with something he is afraid or anxious about. Never just put a puppy in a crate and expect him to like it, we invented crates, it is not a natural place for a dog to be, you have to train him and teach him it is a good place to be, with association to pleasant things.

Try to train him with the crate door open and spend time placing small bits of kibble or other treats in the crate, play a game with him to show him it is a place where "nice" things happen. If you introduce a dog slowly to a crate and he becomes familiar with it he will start to think of it as his own "room", his retreat, somewhere he can chill, without being disturbed by us monkeis. LOL Read this page on how to crate train a puppy, I am sure you will have many happy times with your dog if only you train him carefully and with love.

Most dogs have to be trained to be comfortable with the crate. Also, a lot of dogs can get separation anxiety. Try doing excersizes with it where you make it sit/lay in the crate and reward him.

Show him that it's a good thing to be in there. Also, teach him to stay while the door is open so he knows it's one of "his places. " If you haven't already, put in a bed or some blankets to make it feel more like a nice place to be.

Sometimes during the day when you're staying in the house, put him in the crate while you're doing your regular activities. This way, he won't feel too alone, and can see that being in there doesn't mean he'll be left alone. Whenever you go to let him out, make sure he's calm and sitting in the crate before you open the door.

When you do open it, don't let him come out until you say so. This helps the dog become more relaxed about the idea of being in the crate.

Dogs are pack animals they want to be with their pack.. however in the wild pups are taught to stay in the DEN.. the mom dog leaves and if the pups cry they might get eaten by other dogs or wild animals.. the problem is that some owners respond to the cries of a pup - this teaches it to cry for attention.. so you MUST resist responding to cries. You can leave a radio on quietly or a ticking clock.. here is a good link therealowner.com/dogs/how-to-successfull....

If the puppy has recently been taken from parents and siblings then that is usually why. They cry because they are scared. Not being used to the crate is another reason.

It takes time to crate train an animal just as it does to house break them. It is not an overnight thing. Often times a friend such as another dog, or a stuffed animal will give the puppy some comfort and it won't cry as much.

Making it understand that is like "its room" would be the best thing to do. Just as you would with a toddler you don't want it to think that its room is its punishment place. Hope that helps!

If your puppy is used to sleeping near you or is pretty young yet it might miss it's family it did have. What you could do is put a pillow in the crate with your scent on it or a toy , never leave your puppy in the crate for too long while it's young, when it's young yet you never put a puppy in a crate for over a few hours, maybe one at a time is good to start with to get it used to the crate or half an hour at first then work your way up.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
