Having semi-personal experience on this matter, I would say no. There are alot of mechanics that can further his learning of playing the drums in Rock Band. Mechanics such as multitasking, rhythm, and practicing proper form while using drumsticks.
With Rock Band it will teach hand and eye cordination and the control of keeping a different rhythm steady with the users foot (Bass Drum). These are essentials that must be learned in real drumming as well. Not to mention the fun factor in Rock Band!
It is a good party game/multiplayer game. No lie, my Wife's brother got so good at Rock Band drumming that he took a real intrest in playing the real drums. Without lessons, he bought a drum kit and started playing.
He won a contest for best alternative metal drummer about 4 months ago here in Vegas, it was a local contest but its still impressive. Everyone I tell thinks its pretty funny that my Brother in law learned how to play the drums from a video game. All in all, getting Rock Band and taking drum lessons shouldn't interfere with eachother other than time managed and spent on either URL1 make it to where he is alloted a certain amount of hours playing Rock Band, so that he doesn't spend all of his time on a video game and not practicing the actual lessons taught by the instructor.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
