If he is anything like my nephew, he will love a spiderman theme! If not, browse through the kids costumes and I am sure one will jump out at you. There are some really nice costumes this year!
Here are a couple of ideas THEME I: WESTERN Have everyone dress in their best cowboy/cowgirl outfit (that they won't mind getting wet)Buy inexpensive water guns for each guest; (Use a paint marker to put names on them)Have a shooting gallery with targets made from styrofoam plates (string across a line and let each kid take turns aiming/ shooting)Buy 2 stick ponies and have stick pony racesBuy 2 inexpensive cowboy hats and place toss the hat on a post. ( A large wooden dowel pounded in the ground will work)Serve Beans & hot dogs, beef jerky and a cake decorated in the western theme. THEME II CARNIVALPick up ducks (set a small children's wading pool up with water and rubber ducks numbered on the bottom) give a prize Pop Balloons, pop a balloon to win a prize Tape small balloons to a large piece of wood covered with poster board or bright fabricFace painting station: display only a few simple designs so it doesn't take up too much timeMake balloon animals Have everyone dress like clowns or circus animals, the strong man (tarzan type costume) or the tattooed man.
You could dress as a fortune teller. Use poster board to draw circus animals in cages and hand around the fence outdoors/ or the room. Use bright colors.
Play carnival music; serve cotton candy, popcorn, peanuts, hot dogs or corn dogsSet up a photo booth, use 2 pieces of poster board and draw a carnival character or animal, cut out a hole for the child to poke his/her head through, take photos, you can place these in an album for your child (and make extra copies to send each child their pic with thank you notes).
For age 5. I would say choose a theme from a character he loves. If there is a ChuckECheese in your area, that is a good place to start.
Both your son and his guest would have a very exciting time and I think you can order pizza there for everyone. If there is not a business like that, all kids love arcades. Choose a place like that to take the party to.
I hope this helps you just a little. Pinky8.
It is a popular kids’ party theme these days. If your son likes this theme you can include a lot of great game and decoration ideas. Other options could be: a Camping Party, Soccer Party, Zoo Party or perhaps a Knights/Castle part.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
