My teen-ager smokes pot regularly-4-5 times a week. I'm concerned about long-term effects. Is this a serious problem right now -red flags?

Having two kids of my own, one being almost 18, I feel concerned for your child. Pot leads to other drugs. You as the parent, should know what your child is doing every second of the day.

You should not allow your teen to smoke pot, drink or do any drugs. Talk to them about quitting and if need be, take them for help. Do not allow your child to do drugs of any kind.

I do not mean any disrespect. I have watched my sister in law, from a distance (they live across the US) allow her kids to do whatever they want. They are both now in a mess.

Both doing drugs of all sorts, the one just had a baby, so she is on Welfare, doing drugs, drinking and with child. Give your teen a chance for a successful life.

Marijuana can effect alot of people in different ways, Some people view it as something that leads to harder drugs and it most certainly can. But others would say it falls closer to alcohol as something that can be used responsibly by a mature person. If you have a problem with them smoking marijuana the way they are put a stop to it before its more than 5 times a week.

But if your worried about this leading to other drugs you should have a honest disscussion with them about how they feel about harder drugs and how they relate to marijuana. Personally marijuana has helped me (especially when I was a teenager) deal with depression and overwhealming anxiety. It is now over ten years later and I have never moved on to harder drugs.

If your child feels like these are the reasons there using the drug you should know about it so you can help them find a cure in traditional medicine, or even medical marijuana if you arent opposed to it.

K your teen-ager somkes pot and that is a bad thing I guess it all depends on rather or not how old this teen may be you can call the police you could try and get him help and you could have a talk with him. I know making these choices are not always easy but this is going to be one of the hardest ones to make I am sorry if you don't want to do either one of them but sooner or latter you are going to face the facts that he might just be addicted to it. And if that is the case then it is better to catch it before it gets worse so good luck making the right one.It varies on the family.

Soo I really mean the best of luck.

I have two friends that smoke pot. One is slow and acts and talks like a pot head. The other one gets happy, lively and full of energy and basically the effects are not obvious.

I'd look at the effects it is having on him, and decide if he's the kind of kid that can handle it well. If not, he's liable to go thru life labeled a stoner.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
