All display devices have a resolution handling limit that is dependent on the number of pixels they have, plus the processing capability of the device s input electronics. Native resolution refers to the resolution that can be displayed without the signal being modified or compressed in anyway, and is determined by the number of pixels the display has. For example, a very common display resolution setting from a laptop or PC is XGA.
This is 1024 x 768 pixels. Most data projectors including desktop types will handle this resolution in its native form. However, with higher resolution settings such as 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) some projectors (particularly the lower budget ones) will not display these natively.
