Surely, our enemies in Afghanistan - and other areas - don't need any intelligence system. All they have to do is wait long enough and we'll gladly hand them any information they require. Again, I ask, when did we loose our minds?

1 As a "years ago veteran", with more than a couple of days in "intelligence community" training, I can't believe in this modern "tell all" system.

3 I once heard a discussion, probably on the radio, that had to do with "The Battle of the Bulge"...The contention being that if the American Public KNEW what wasgoing on there would have been an uproar which may have changedthe course of the war...There is also a 'theory' floating around out there that says "The Press"is primarily a "Left-Wing" Agency, and as such, wants "Peace at any cost",and does whatever it can do to end U.S. involvement in hostilities howeverit can, whenever it can...Don't know if any of that has had anything to do with it, but I do know thatmy Mom got to see way more of what we were doing in Vietnam whileI was there than she needed to see, and that was not a good thing...And speaking of Vietnam... There is another "Theory" that says WalterKronkite may have bolstered the morale of the NVA at a time when it was sorely needed, and which brought about their resurgence after they hadtheir heads handed to them in the "Tet Offensive"... It happens that U.S. Forces WON every battle of this Offensive, and pretty much decimated the Viet Cong almost out of existence while virtually destroying any hope the North had of a victory, yet Kronkite is alleged to have reported an "American Defeat" which is supposed tohave spurred the North on continue fighting when "they had planned tosurrender soon" ... Some believe this is the first real attempt by the "Media" to influence America into pulling out of a "War", and since it is thought to also have been successful, the efforts continue...Once again, I wish to point out that I don't know if any of this holdswater, but it might make for an interesting discussion...Or, should I say "Diss-cussion"?... We shall see...God Bless...

Here's a news story (not in front of the children).
NBC NEWS just had a story that started with "Coming up, an in-depth visit to.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
