Who anchors NBC Nightly News?

The current anchor of the NBC Nightly News is Brian Williams who has had the job since late 2004 when he took over from long time anchor, Tom Brokaw. The weekend edition of the show is anchored by Lester Holt. Brian Williams was a long time fill-in for Tom Brokaw and ran the weekend edition between 1993 and 1999.

Though the rankings of Nightly News did slip initially under Williams, he has taken the show back to the top spot in recent years. Tom Brokaw was the show’s anchor from 1982 until 2004. Brokaw had previously been the anchor of The Today Show and took over the show the same day the Peter Jennings took over at ABC.
