Need help finding the title of book, I don't know the author just the story. It's about a boy who goes to his neighbors to borrow a cup of sugar for his mom. The house is scary.

You open the book and each page is a different room in the house with flaps to lift and pop ups.(its a pop up, lift the flap book). One room is a kitchen with three pots and you can turn a dial to put different grose ingrediants in the pot like eye of newt. One page you open a chest and a bat pops out.

One page has a creature in a cage that moves. At the end of the book you open a door and the monster that lives in the house is there saying your mom said you wanted to borrow a cup of sugar. I know this isn't much help but maybe someone recognizes the story?!

It's a childrens book. Asked by acbc7681 22 months ago Similar questions: help finding title book author story Food & Drink > Cooking.

Need help finding the title of a book with no author. I last read this book over 30 years ago so it's an old one. The science fiction story is about a teen age boy on an island.

The boy has an alien police officer residing in his body. The alien communicates with the boy by placing text in the boy's eye so the boy can see it. The alien police officer convinces the boy to help him capture another alien criminal.

The boy's father, who is a scientist eventually is convinced to help also. As I recall the book was written at about high school level. Asked by plogank 22 months ago Similar questions: help finding title book author Arts > Books > Books - Science Fiction.

Finding the title of a book with no author... Group: Science Fiction Fans ignoreTopic: need help finding a book, no title no author 0 / 4 readDec 23, 2009, 12:47am (top)Message 1: Ladykendragonabout 7 years ago I checked a paperback out from a library, it was sci fi fantasy. The main character is a woman, she has implants to hook up to a VR game of medieval tournament and life. The plot runs from her success on the tourney field to a plot to kill her for knowing to much about a hack into another game that leads to real dangers.

I have been searching for this book a long time and can't find even a glimmer. The heroine is a SCA member and the love interest is in a wheelchair. There are scenes I can describe, but no idea whatever about the author or title.

There is a book that has similar properties called "heir apparent" but I own that one and it isn't it. Any help would be super. Thanksflag abuseDec 23, 2009, 1:54am (top)Message 2: AerulanI think maybe the book you're looking for is A Point of Honor by Dorothy J.

That sounds a lot like... That sounds a lot like... Chocky. amazon.co.uk/Chocky-Penguin-Books-John-W... DescriptionMatthew, they thought, was just going through a phase of talking to himself. And, like many parents, they waited for him to get over it, but it started to get worse.

Mathew's conversations with himself grew more and more intense - it was like listening to one end of a telephone conversation while someone argued, cajoled and reasoned with another person you couldn't hear. Then Matthew started doing things he couldn't do before, like counting in binary-code mathematics. So he told them about Chocky - the person who lived in his head.

About the AuthorJohn Wyndham Parkes Lucas Benyon Harris was born in 1903, the son of a barrister. He tried a number of careers including farming, law, commercial art and advertising, and started writing short stories, intended for sale, in 1925. From 1930 to 1939 he wrote stories of various kinds under different names, almost exclusively for American publications, while also writing detective novels.

During the war he was in the Civil Service and then the Army. In 1946 he went back to writing stories for publication in the USA and decided to try a modified form of science fiction, a form he called 'logical fantasy'. As John Wyndham he wrote The Day of the Triffids and The Kraken Wakes (both widely translated), The Chrysalids, The Midwich Cuckoos (filmed as Village of the Damned), The Seeds of Time, Trouble with Lichen, The Outward Urge (with Lucas Parkes) and Chocky.

Centered around a girl who'd seen her mother raped and beaten to death by soldiers when she was still very young, so she tries to hide/deny her gender by often spending large amounts of time in the woods dressed as a young boy and also takes up "boyish" pursuits. She is betrothed (by the king?) to a man, also a soldier, but when he comes to collect her she again takes to the woods and tries to escape him. He goes in search of her and she is so terrified she shoots (at) him with an arrow.

If I remember correctly, she has an older sister who tries to convince her marriage is not so bad, but the older sister doesn't know that she saw what was done to their mother. Anyway, this is what I can recall. If anyone knows what book this might be, and better yet has it, I would be amazingly grateful!

Need help finding the title of a book with no author... As an avid book lover, this is a problem I have been beset with more often than I can care to remember. Devouring books by the dozen, since my wonder years, has alas filled up the memory chip in my brain. I have to really wrack my brain sometimes to remember a book or to cite a quote from some book I had read.

Believe me, it’s one of the tip of the tongue moments I hate. In the good ol’ days we could only depend on eureka moments, when the bulb flashed and we got the name right. Well these are better days because we need not wait for the bulb to light up anymore.

We have instant recall in the form of the World Wide Web. The Internet is an information sponge that has even your local librarian beat. A visit to the local library isn’t such a bad idea but if you can’t wait for it open then plug into the web. It’s open 24 hours a day.

By the way, a lot of libraries now also have online catalogs. Let’s start with our friendly normal search engineWhen we don’t remember (and even if we do) the name of book, author, or the characters in it, the search engine is usually the first port of call. What is true for any generic search is true to finding a book without knowing the name and the author too – it’s called keywords.

How to find a book without title or authorIn case of a forgotten title or author, we have to remember and go back to anything we can use from the book. It could be the name of a character, a line of dialog he said, or any opening lines. More specific the phrase, the better would be the result.

All rules of a normal search apply (for instance, for exact searches put it in quotes). Let’s move on to Google Book SearchGoogle Books has scanned and indexed entire books (7 million till November 2008) using OCR in its database and now presents it for online viewing. The Advanced Search Page is a powerful tool to get to an obscure title.

From keyword search to using filters like subject, publisher, language, publication date, ISBN and ISSN numbers (you aren’t going to remember these two! ), the ways are many. With the search, you will get results with the keywords.

Need help finding the author and title of a book. It was fiction, about people who would receive an envelope in the mail, when opened it would shower confetti and unknown to people opening the envelope, I believe anthrax. This happened to several people and I believe there were at least 2-3 people looking for the culprits. It was an excellent book and a friend & I read it and both had a hard time putting the book down.

I know this is not much info, but any and all help would be appreciated. It has been several years ago that we read this book. Of course at the time we said we would never forget this one, and of course we have.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
