You are between the rock and the hard thing. The landlord or property manager is not in the police business nor are they police. Your landlord or property manager is not responsible for the crime in the neighborhood.
No property manager nor landlord will put into a lease agreement that they would be responsible for any damage to your personal property to include your vehicles, even if you have an assigned parking space. You might have gotten a police report prior to moving into the neighborhood. This might have had an influence on your decision to move into your current rental unit.
If you decide to break your lease because of the criminal acts against you, I am sure the landlord or property manager would take action to make sure you pay your rent still owed based on the lease you signed. There might also be a clause in your lease where you are required to pay financial penalty for breaking the lease. If you are able to pay the financial penalty, you would have no problem as you have lived up to the terms of your lease agreement.
The problem arise if you are unable to pay the penalty. The landlord or property manager would probably sue you in small small claims court to be made financially whole. This law suit will appear on your credit and background check.
Your car insurance should have paid for the damage and theft to to your vehicles. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. "FIGHT ON.
They don't have to show you video of the parking lot unless the police know there is one and they request it from landlord. You are liable for the balance of your lease since landlord is not responsible for thefts. You pay the rest of the lease until apartment is re-rented, or you pay the early termination fee.
If you don't do either one, you get bad credit score. Since you have been robbed so much I would try to sue the landlord to break the lease. Does your lease indicate there is an early termination fee of $3,000, or one at all.
That is exhorbitant. You may have to stick it out. You should have renter's insurance and that will cover the cost of the tools that were stolen.
The landlord is never liable for crimes but since you have had so many incidents and they want $3,000 I would sue to try and get some justice.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
