Need your opinions on iPod Nano vs. iPod Classic Just going by price and disk space from apple. Com, the nano is $199 for 8G, and the classic is $249 for 80G. It seems worth it to go with the classic one and get so much more space for $50 more...Do you agree?
Is there something I'm missing about the nano? I have an older one with 20G of space (no video), and would like to replace it because it's been giving me problems. I like having the space, but I don't know anything about the nano.
Thank you for any help and your opinions...Answer anywhere! Asked by mightymite 47 months ago Similar questions: opinions iPod Nano Classic Consumer Electronics > MP3 Players & Accessories.

The Nano's advantage is its tiny, tiny form factor. That makes it very attractive to people who will be carrying them around a lot. It's not like the classic is a brick, but take a look at the two and tell me which you'd rather carry around with you on a ten mile run. Or in a purse, all day.
The other factor to consider is how much music you really have, or wish to listen to at any given point. If you have a huge library and want access to all of it at all times, then the classic is definitely for you. If you're only interested in a few particular mixes, the 8GB nano can easily hold many people's current libraries.
Personally, I use my nano primarily for podcasts and recorded books while I run. I don't even have 8 GB; I have only 4GB. But it holds what I'm listening to at the moment, and it doesn't need my entire library.
Not to mention... hey, fifty bucks is fifty bucks.(And I got mine refurbished for $99.) The bigger one is a better deal per megabyte if you're going to use all of those megabytes. If you're not, it's just wasted money. As usual, it's a matter of getting the right tool for the right job.
None of Apple's products are redundant or irrelevant; they each have a targeted niche user.
It depends on how much media you have I own a classic 80GB and I have several friends with nanos. I had to get mine because I have over 30 GB of music. If you have a small amount of media and you don't see it growing much larger in the next few years, I recommend the nano because there is no reason to get a big MP3 player unless you have a lot of stuff. My friends are really happy with their nanos and they have no problem changing out the songs on it if they run out of space.
So it really just depends on how much space you want. Sources: personal experience .
Basically the same The Nano and Classic are basically the same as far as functionality goes. The difference is that the Nano is smaller both physically and storage-wise. Also the nano uses flash memory like that of a USB thumbdrive, so it has no moving parts and is the best pick if you plan to do active things with it like running or biking.
The iPod classic has a spinning hard drive inside of it much like the hard drive inside your computer. This gives is a much larger storage capacity, but also makes it more fragile because you have a disc inside spinning at 4,200 revolutions a minute with very small needles running over the discs. If the drive is being accessed at the exact time you bump it or drop it, the needles can scratch the discs and ruin them. So, if you plan to be active with your iPod I would recommend the Nano.
I saw way too many people come into the Genius Bar at the Apple store with broken iPods that was caused from running with it and shaking it all over the place while that disc was spinning. Other than that, they both play music, videos, and games and have basically the same functionality. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
