Easy! IPod - all iPods ever produced iPod nano - the newer, modernized answer to the iPod mini. It now plays videos, but it's unattractively wide, I think.It is very, very small and holds 1000 songs.

IPod Shuffle - All iPods except for this one have a screen that let you know what song is playing. A few years ago when the small, bland-looking, iPod shuffle came out, it didn't have a screen.It did have all the controls, which were volume, fast forward, reverse, and play/pause. It also had a switch that when turned one way would shuffle all your songs, or if put the other way, play all the songs in alphabetical order.

The big 'thing' about it is the fact you don't know what's playing. For me, it's a feature I'd never want to go without because I find I skip through my songs constantly and I need to see what's playing. BUT, if you meant the iPod VIDEO (which if you did I didn't know they now called it just the 'iPod' now) for the first one, don't worry, I can tell you that one, too!

The iPod video first came out about 2 years ago with 2 kinds of ipod videos in the traditional white or black. You first had your choice of 30GB or 60GB. I'm not sure how many songs the 60 gig will hold, but I have the 30GB and it should hold 7,000 songs (unless you have other things like movies or podcasts, etc. ) So I suppose 60 holds 14,000, but I can't be sure.

The video's screen, like the nano, is in color and is bigger (if measured diagonally) They then introduced music videos, TV shows, video podcasts, and even games that could be downloaded to the iPod and viewed on a nice, wide screen. Now, since the dawn of that era, the 30 gig still exhists, but the 60 gig is now obsolete and two higher gig iPod videos (which hold inhuman numbers of stuff) now have come. There are larger differences between the Shuffle and the other two. The Shuffle cannot display movies or images. It also has no interface to find and select a specific song.It simply plays songs that you put onto it in a random order (hence "shuffle").
