New downloaded screen saver is installed but I can't get it to appear as a choice in screen savers - I have Windows XP?

New downloaded screen saver is installed but I can't get it to appear as a choice in screen savers - I have Windows XP. It's currently on desktop. When I go to Control Panel - Display - Screen Savers, I just see all the ones that came installed.

How can I get my new one to run? Thank you! Asked by Nut4trains 49 months ago Similar questions: downloaded screen saver installed choice savers Windows XP Computers > Software.

Simple solution, but I can't tell you how to implement it You actually have to put the file in the Windows System folder where the default screen savers are stored in order for it to show up in the Display listings. Unfortunately, I can't point that out to you as I have Vista, and Microsoft has eliminated the Display controls from Vista and broken up the entire Control Panel into a new configuration. Vista also no longer has the Active Desktop feature (in XP you can define a website as your screen background, you can't do this in Vista anymore).

It's a feature they removed supposedly for security reasons, but alot of people wish they hadn't, including me. If you want to find the XP folder the hard way you can search through your Windows sub folders manually or do a search on one of the default screen savers to find the path. Good luck .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
