If you've received a printed invitation through the regular mail, then you need to send your reply back to them through the mail. Fill out the enclosed RSVP card and mail it back. If the invitation didn't include an RSVP card, then write your reply on a blank note card or a sheet of personal stationery and mail it back: "Mr. John Smith regretfully declines the kind invitation of Miss Andrea Jones and Mr. Steven McDonald."
That's all you need to say. You should not make multiple apologies or explain why you cannot be there. If the invitation was sent by email, or if it's a casual paper invitation that specifically requests you to email them back, then you can say: " thank you for the invitation to your wedding.
Unfortunately, Betty and I are unable to attend. We wish you all the best! Love, John."
That's all you need to say. Again, do not bend over backward to apologize, and do not provide a reason why you won't be attending - you don't owe them an explanation, even if they are rude enough to demand one. "We are unable to attend" is ALL you should say.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
