The project started with "Next Thursday, Jan. 17, Cak will be starting chemo, so some of her friends in the Askville community have decided to show support by “wearing orange”, that is, making our avatars orange next Thurs. "Now on cak's bulletin board is"My wife was just admitted to the hospital.

She left the house w/ a 101 temp, it is now 103.5. They are running more tests, trying to see what is going on. More than likely she will be there tonight and tomorrow. Thank you for supporting her.

Since no one else has answered... I couldn't let this virtual get well card go by without at least one answer! Knowing that it would have to be special, and thinking of how much cak1971 has come to mean to me, I decided to write a poem. Or, to be more correct, re-write a poem.

Thus was born my ode to cancer: The Drugs Not Taken *ahem* Two pain pills laid on the vanity wood And sorry I could not swallow both Having only one liver, long I stood And considered side effects as best I could... But which to take? (I muttered an oath. ) I shall be telling this with a sigh There I stood, astride the fence Two pills on the vanity wood, and I - I ate the pill less barf-prone.

And my! But that has made all the difference. (I thought about doing the whole thing, but I can hear the cry for rotten tomatoes from here - never mind poor Robert Frost rolling over in his grave - so I'll quit while I'm ahead.) I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
