Off to Portland tomorrow- production of my new movie "Hairy Carrie" starts Friday. Any restaurant recommendations?

I have two favorites I'll list here, but there's so many really good "off the beaten path" places, I hope others check in with theirs too. 1. Old Wives Tales, the best choice for anyone with a health conscious requirement.

The food is so good you won't know it's also good for you! And you have to try their famous Hungarian Mushroom Soup! So thick, so creamy you have to be careful not to fill up on it if you want to try anything else!(Menu items include Vegan, non-dairy, non-gluten options, including desserts.) oldwivestalesrestaurant.com/ oldwivestalesrestaurant.com/images/1home/storefront.

Jpg 2. Vivace's, for authentic crepes, coffee and teas. I prefer the savory crepes myself.

#23 on the menu. I've never read reviews on the place until today for this article. The negative reviews (though few) were humorous.

My only "complaint" is there were no "rules" posted for new customers. For example, water is self serve from a dispenser near the register. Seating is also self serve, first come first serve, bussing your own table is nice for the next customer (speeds things up considerably), and drinks are prepared separately from the meal.

You have to listen for your order to be called. If you want to sit outside to eat, it's best to wait for your drinks first. Reason to complain?

Absolutely not. Just different. Adds to the charm.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
