Ok fuel pumps.I went to the shop. fuel pump replaced on a 1998 ford 6cyl mustang he said 1100 crazy?

Sorry but parts and labor sounds about right,shop around and you might find a deal,or do the work yourself.

That's kinda high, you might be able to shop around and get it done for about half that. It's expensive as the pump is inside the fuel tank, and opening that up often requires first dropping the exhaust system, suspension, trailing-links, and tank straps. Lotsa work.

Bad news. That sounds right in the ballpark. The pump is INSIDE the fuel tank.

I assume it is Base model and not a GT. GT would be 8 cyl. Fuel pump Modules are sold for about $250, while a simple electric fuel pump is anywhere from $65 to $95 Depending on performance grade..Did you do some shopping around?

In my opinion, a simple replacement of in-line pump should be about $150 or entire module replacement for $375, but then again, I cant put a price on peoples work. Here in Los Angeles there are so many shops that I would have a choice , how is in your area? Call the dealer and ask for estimate, how much for part, how much for labor?

Then call at least 3 different repair shops and ask the same. You may get a good deal on Internet for parts. Then take it to most reasonable repair shop.

Thank You for your response. So, If this car is not an 8cyl it should not have an electronic fuel module relay or box? My car is just a 6cyl nothing fancy.

I had a friend come pick it up and take it to the shop but, Low and behold the car started up after using an air intake cleaner while trying to start the car. Why? I returned the fuel pump I had bought.My friend took apart the PCU that is located on the passangers side fender.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
