Yes and no. At stock speeds it's nothing special, but it's still decent for the money. If you require basic integrated graphics then the Pentium is rather better than AMD's competing A6 range at non-gaming tasks.
If you'll be using a separate graphics card then the competition is AMD Athlon X4 and FX-4### processors and in some programs and games the Pentium does better, due to certain drawbacks of AMD's design, but in others the AMD will win.
No, it is what it is. It's a very good dual core processor...overclocked or not.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
