Well the person would have to ask himself does the masonry ideas conflict with my religious based views. Many like the idea of being a part of an organization or loved by a group of peers but will it come at the cost of your morals or values. Also will you be rubbing shoulders with those that will slowly decrease your spiritual conscious because the more you hang around those that don't hold your values high then it tends to rub off.
Yes, Freemasonry does not discriminate against a mans religion,his skin colour or his social standing etc. I am a Freemason,I know plenty of Jewish,Muslim and Christian (both Protestant and Catholic) Freemasons. There are lodges in Israel and several Muslim countries,as well as in most Christian countries.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
