My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is always the stuffing. When I was little that was always the smell that greeted me on Thanksgiving morning and that was the thing that I was always trying to sneak a bite of. You have cornbread, onions, butter and turkey drippings; what more could you want in a food?

The rest of the Thanksgiving feast is great but if I were told that I could have all the stuffing that I wanted and noting else or all of the other items that I wanted and no stuffing I would take that stuffing every time. Sources: my tastebuds .

Yams! It's not Thanksgiving for me unless there is some type of Yam dish. Grandma made mashed yams with butter and then covered them with the mini marshmallows.

YUM! I try to make the same dish, but it comes out a little different each year because I never had her recipe. This year we added pecans on top, and it turned out great.

I would also like to try the whole yam dishes, too. Maybe boil them a little then fry them. Add some brown sugar on top and BAM.

Thanksgiving goodness.

This year, the green bean casserole and pumpkin patch cookies For some reason, the green bean casserole was awesome this year. I added in Tamari, paprika and white pepper to the recipe below and used cream of celery vs. mushroom. Ingredients Quantity Procedure Green beans, cut, canned* 2 #10 cans 1.

Drain beans. Condensed cream of mushroom soup 50 oz. Can 2.

Combine ingredients. Stir in beans. Milk 1 qt.

Black pepper, ground 1 tsp. French's® French Fried Onions 1 24 oz. Can 3.

Add half the onions to green bean mixture; pour into baking pan. 4. Bake in conventional oven, uncovered, at 350 °F for 1 hour or until hot.Stir.

Top with remaining onions. Bake 5 minutes longer. Also, made Pumpkin patch cookies using the recipe below, and rolling the cookies in "Oh my, Chai".

Ingredients Pumpkin Patch™ 2/3 cup melted butter 1 large egg Directions Combine ingredients in medium bowl; stir until dough forms. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes.

Makes 28-32 cookies. What made all of this really special, though, was spending the time with family, and the joy that it brought to them. I had to make extra so everyone would have seconds to bring home!

This is a great holiday! Sources: French's french-fried onions and tastefully simple .

Plain old mashed turnips My technique is quite simple: First, watch everyone scatter when it's time to help. Get blisters on your fingers peeling them. Slice off a few fingers dicing them.

Use a hammer and hatchet when the knife doesn't get through them. Break your cutting board and permanently scar your countertops. Clog your disposal with the waxy peels.

Boil for an hour, steaming up the entire kitchen. Get burnt-on turnip froth all over your stove. Scald your wrists draining them.

Pour half down the sink by mistake. Whip them with an electric mixer with beaters too short to reach bottom and short out your mixer. Burn fingers retrieving beaters from partially-beaten turnips.Serve.

Approximately an hour after eating, get heartburn. They don't need anything added to them except salt and gravy at the table. Yummmmmm!

This is my favorite TG side dish. I don't know why it's so special. Maybe because most people hate them so much and I just like to be different.

Our family has served them as far back as I can remember. Except this year. I actually didn't make them this year (it's a long story....) and I really missed them.

Oh yes, one year I did try frozen, pre-peeled and cut. Yuck. Never again.

Sweet Potato Souffle My favorite thing is my cousin's sweet potato souffle, it is soooo good. She HAS to make it for every family gathering, it's a must! I'm not sure her recipe but on the bottom is the sweet pototo and then on top of that it's pecans and then this crispy, crunchy top that I think has brown sugar in it maybe... it's DELICIOUS and i've never had anything like it anywhere else..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
