As a retired ex lower paid Public service worker of 35 years, please let me put my viewpoint I was a school caretaker, not great pay, but the security was there. On this low pay I brought up a family and kept my head above water, and paid all dues and demands. I paid my contributions to my pension fund from my wages. As to huge pensions, I receive £ 80 per week, taxable of course.
The large amounts of pensions quoted are from higher level local government earners! I feel that I have earned and deserve my pension.
If your income is so badly hit I suppose you will be claiming the Winter Fuel Allowance or Cold Weather Payment (or whatever it is called) although it is not needed in Spain. How much of your income are you spending in the UK and therefore contributing to the UK economy? Stop whingying!
People who turn their backs on the UK and then complain about it p! Ss me off. No doubt you paid your NI contributions and are drawing your pension but you decided to leave - you made your bed elsewhere now learn to accept it without moaning about events in the UK.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
