13 days. An incredible ice storm while I was living in a very, very, rural area. Trees and power poles down everywhere, the roads looked like glass, roofs caving in, etc. A bunch of the people in the town (pop.56) got together at one guy's big house that had wood stoves in a few rooms and a few of us had small generators, and one guy owned a liquor store (kept a lot of stock at home).
Being isolated and stuck with a lot of alchohol, and no one being able to get to work, it turned into a hell of a party. A girl that was with us worked in a video store, and at the time, a Batman movie had just come out, so she brought 3 cases of Batman promotional candles. When you lit them, they cast the bat signal on the wall.
About 15 drunken, well stocked country folk in an ice covered house, seeing by bat lights, with not much to do. Good time.
About 10 hours has been the longest, thank God BQ-Both have their own set of problems but I'm going with hot. I'd rather be fanning myself than shivering.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
