Positive attitude, the only need for getting success in life? How you take this?

I could write at great length about this, but I won't. But I'll make a few points... - You're generally much better off with a "postive" than a "negative" attitude As the saying goes, "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right". Those thoughts tend to be self-fulfilling, and psychologists have demonstrated pretty conclusively that whether you spot opportunities and potential solutions to problems has as much to with your frame of mind as whether there are actually any opportunities or solutions out there. In most life situations there are many more options than people realize.

- People usually have a "positive" or "negative" attitudes as a result of their life experiences. Someone that has tried and tried and tried and never really succeeded with any of their plans is not going to be able to conjure up a positive attitude on the spot just because you tell them it's a good idea. Likewise someone that had a lot of success in their life is not likely to suddenly feel that everything is hopeless when they have a big setback.

Such attitudes can be changed, but it's non-trivial to do, and usually needs outside help. - There can be such a thing as being "too positive". In fact there are many ways in which people can be "too positive" for their own good.

One way is to not be grounded in reality and to pursue a path that was demonstrably futile from the outset. This btw is how a lot of those negative people got to be negative in the first place. Their childlike enthusiasm and youthful can-do spirit got squished by running headlong into failure after failure when they got into things that could never work out the way they wanted.

Another way in which people can be "too positive" is to think that they've got some past problem licked or have got some aspect of life mastered. An extreme example would be someone that had an alcohol problem, managed to get and stay sober for a long time, and then thinking they had the problem licked felt it was now ok to take the occasional drink. Overall it's mostly better to be generally positive than to be generally negative.

However those terms are far too simplistic as a way of understanding what does and doesn't work in life. Also, simply telling a pessimistic person to be more optimistic will make no difference to them. If you want to make a difference, that takes a whole lot more work, and a specialized skillset.

I'm going to give an example of where positive attitude does nothing for 'success'. And that is in the case of cancer patients. Although a positive attitude helps with mood and avoiding depression associated with cancer it does nothing to help those people survive the disease - they have no better or worse chance of living than someone who thinks negatively about their disease.( see first set of sources ).

This goes against everything we thought about being a patient and being positive, that it really did affect our chances of living. No, it just helps you get by day to day. Generally having a positive attitude means you are open to suggestions, open to ways of changing and improving yourself, it doesn't mean that you will succeed.

Being successful takes more than attitude, it takes skill, determination, money and time. If someone who thinks positively is short in those other areas its not going to help them .... they'll just be happier with less.....and that's not a bad thing, but its not a guaranteed thing either.... Overall, being positive has its benefits but it takes more than that to be a success.

First one must define success. I'll define and answer. 1) "Success is monetary wealth." - A positive attitude without action is useless for generating wealth.

A positive attitude must be tempered with networking prowess, valuable skills, services, or products, charisma, endurance, and a bit of luck. A positive attitude helps in business, but it can just as easily be a projected positive attitude held by an otherwise miserable person. But I think a positive attitude is linked to confidence, and confidence would probably be a better indicator of the possibility of "success.

" 2) "Success is personal contentment. " - A positive attitude generally accompanies confidence, and confident, happy people generally have positive attitudes, and are more likely to be content. While a positive attitude in no way guarantees that the other stressors of life will be overshadowed, it is a good recipe for general contentment.

3) "Survival. " - A positive attitude will not help someone in the Democratic Republic of Congo overcome starvation, unless it is combined with an effort to harness this positive attitude to get money from another person.4) "Long-term repeated accomplishment." - A positive attitude helps to conquer goal after goal, if the goals are realistic and attainable. If one sets unrealistic goals, a positive attitude will falter under self-imposed failure.

In general, a positive attitude is "good" to maintain, if for any other reason than other people will like you more. We are social animals. Without relationships with others, it is difficult to be successful, in any manner of speaking.

Any person that has the option of dealing with a negative person or a positive person, ceteris paribus, will elect to liaise with the latter.

A positive attitude may not be the ONLY thing that you need, but all other useful abilities become more effective when they are supported by a positive attitude.

The saying "THINK POSITIVE AND YOU WILL SUCCEED", I think it may help to be successful if we have a positive attitude, but to sum it all, still we need to perseverance in order to finish the job or goal to succeed.

Positive attitude is not the only thing you need but one of the important needs for achieving success in life. Having a positive attitude means being optimistic and looking at everything in an upbeat way. During our everyday lives there are so many obstacles. It is so easy to feel down.

The most important thing you can do is to learn (look at the positives) and then make a fresh start and run on the right track to reach your destination.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
