In this time and age premarital sex is a norm, most people start a relationship to have sex in mind, I can say that is this happening globally. The value in earlier times marriage before sex has change to sex before marriage approach.

Well, as a Christian I wa raised to believe it's wrong but I can't really condemn it since I have given in to that temptation myself and I enjoy it.

My parents waited until they were married to have sex because my father wanted to. They have been happily married 38 years. I think people need to do what is right for them in their relationship because every couple is different.

They waited for religious reasons. It was important for to my father to wait until he was married and so they did and waiting did not hurt them at all. After 38 years they love each other more than anyone I know.

It is up to those individuals and their beliefs/religion. I don't think you have to wait til marriage...wait til it feels right.

I think it should be that persons dicision.

I think people should wait until married. It's your gift to your partner.

Tomorrow night I have an appointment to do pre-marital counseling with a couple of unbelievers. They are nominally Catholic, but aren't very religious. Recently they attended our church (at the invitation of a friend) and heard a sermon on marriage from Proverbs.

It freaked them out. Now they want counseling in advance of their rapidly approaching wedding. So, my question: any thoughts on how to proceed?

This is my first time in this situation. Being bold about the gospel isn't a problem. That's clearly the end game here.

But I don't want to "bait and switch" them. They asked for relationship counseling, and so that's where we'll start. I imagine that that will open a lot of doors into their idolatries and false worship that can be turned to the gospel.

But with that said, have any of you guys been in this specific situation? Any resources you'd recommend? Any particular approach you'd take?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
