President Lincoln's First Inaugural Address? I Don't understand it at all.?

It's pretty much what @MrSmartypants said (except that the "17th century" has nothing to do with it). But the significance of what he said was that 1801 was the first time in US history that one political party had defeated another party in an election. Unlike most countries before the USA, he's saying, we're able to have a transfer of power without killing everybody on the losing side.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
