During my one trip to Israel in 1986 (at which time I was 15 years old), I spent time in Jerusalem, Beersheba, Eilat and Tel Aviv. For the most part, I have found Israelis to be friendly. There are religious issues that inevitably come with being a place where Jews, Christians and Muslims live, but on the whole, I understand that Christians tend to get along well there.
As for the matter of being Korean or from the Orient, I can't say for sure what Israelis in general would think about people from Korea or any other country in the Orient, although I am sure that Israel has had some foreign workers from that part of the world. (When I was in Jerusalem, my parents, brothers and me stayed at a hotel which had a kosher Chinese restaurant in it.).
In the summer it is very hot, but in the winter it is cooler and more likely to rain. Most of the people there are very nice. There are obviously exceptions to be found, but it isnt an unfriendly country by any means.
About all of the reports of things like terrorism on the news: overall, Israel is a very safe country. There are a few hotbeds of terrorism like the Gaza Strip, but as long as you don't go there, you will be fine. Jerusalem has a section called the "Christian Quarter" (along with Armenian, Jewish, and Muslim), where many Christians live.
Being a country composed largely of immigrants, Israel is very welcoming to other cultures, although there are not many Asian people who live there.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
