Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Yes drawing things that have souls is haram (there are some exemptions such as education and what not). If you draw animals or humans without faces it is fine. You should not have any paintings in the house of drawn animals/humans however.
Hadith states that the angels do not enter the house that contains such drawings or houses that have dogs in them to give the people blessings. Another hadith states that Allah (swt) will ask the artist to breath life into his creation on the day of judgment (which he can't). Another hadith states that Mother Aisha (r.
A) bought a couch for the prophet (s.a. W) that contained animal drawings on it, the prophet (s.a. W) did not enter the house and looked disappointed when he saw the couch, Aisha (r.
A) immediately repented to Allah (swt) and to the prophet and asked him what she did wrong, the prophet (s.a. W) said the couch with the drawings was not allowed in Islam, so they threw it out. I think there are other hadiths as well.
If it's that important and Islam and if it's really haram then why the Holy book (Quran) mentions no such thing The Quran is the word of Allah SWT and is innocent from the claims of some people. It's the book that contains the pure message of Allah SWT and it's never been banned. History and words of people that are not recorded and supervised can be distorted but the word of God can never be I'm a muslim and one of my hobbies is drawing.
It's an art that requires talent. Whoever said that must've hated painting and drawing because he was not good at it. God knows whom.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
