I prefer paper books, simply because I like the feeling of flipping pages. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something - I don't know if it makes sense, but I prefer it to swiping my finger across a screen. And I kind of like the smell of books... sorry if that seems really freaky... :) But I can't deny that eBooks and reading books on your mobile device is much more practical - no more carrying around piles of books, and it won't cost as much for publishers to print all those physical copies.
It's like records turning into CDs turning into iPods... some people still like records and collect them, just like one day I'm sure I'll collect books because they'll be so outdated.
I love the feeling of buying a new book and being able to physically possess it. It's mine for as long as I want it. Nothing compares to reading a new book- the feel of it constantly trying to close (like most stubborn new books do) and having to force it open- creating the first scars that signify 'used.' That smell... such a strange yet comforting smell.
As much as I love paper books though, you must admit, many of these books are a waste of paper. Unless you're passionate about reading and keeping books, you should buy them electronically so as not to waste paper.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
