Progressives have a few things in common. First they don't trust other people, they think people are corrupt, they are fairly unpredictable. Second progressives seek to control these people through large institutions or social norms, this is done through large government and Academia in this country.
Third progressives seek to eliminate nationalism in all countries and replace that with a global body to unite all countries. They feel this is the only way to effectively control people, because then there would be no place anyone could go, if it was global. Looking at these similarities its easy to understand why a liberal thinks the way they do, and what strategies they often employe to initiate their agendas.
They don't trust other people, because they honestly don't trust themselves, and they don't believe anyone can honestly trust themselves either. They want large amounts of regulation and more rules and laws because of this fear of other people, they often don't have a strong connection with God, and tend to have a strong connection with sciences. A progressive seeks to replace God with science, to replace freedom with controls or regulation, and to replace American nationalism with a global nationalism.
Their behavior often attempts to dull our achievements, apologize for our actions, eliminate diversity in education, provide higher dependencies (breads and circus), and remove diversity in social and economical climates. Progressives don't believe in the private sector, they honestly believe the best way to increase jobs is more government spending, this is a shared view all over the world, and as we are starting to see with our debt crisis and the worlds debt crisis is that no one can afford this, and even if we could we shouldn't, because what makes us free is our ability to make choices, not the removal of choices. This does not mean all democrats are progressives, it does however mean that all progressives are democrats, and their party platform is largely made up of progressive ideals.
If this is not you, you are not a progressive, and you are being duped into voting for people who do not speak for you. Also to address the issue of taxes and job creation its a two part answer. To understand this issue you have to realize that there are different kinds of companies, there are domestic companies, multi-domestic companies multi-national companies and global companies.
The first part is that global companies, and multi-national companies are actually looking for excuses to relocate outside of the boarders of the United States, and tax incentives are not good enough to keep these companies here in the long run. Some of these companies are still loyal to the United States, but it is not in their best interest economically to do so, this is because other countries offer cheaper labor, less regulation, less taxes or no taxes what so ever, and all they have to do is simply pay off a few officials. The second issue is that when your talking about domestic and multi-domestic companies, where they are forced to do business inside the United States (these are largely small businesses) then the tax issue is a big issue for them, but an even bigger issue for them and what often kills these businesses is government interference (regulation).
Tax rates technically may be low, but revenues are not, and companies are having to to pay a record high in government revenues, such as fees, fines, insurances, regulations etc. These are essentially a tax, and if you counted them for what they are as a tax, taxes HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER in America.
I think it's a common misconception that taxes have a role in whether jobs are created by businesses. The tax holes we need to close are the ones where a hedge fund manager pays less tax than his office clerk despite the 1000 % higher income. Where oil companies who continue to rake in record profits enjoy huge tax breaks and subsidies, which does nothing to create jobs or keep prices down.
Where the richest 1% of America is growing ever more wealthy while unemployment flourishes, wages stagnate and prices keep climbing. It is a flat out lie that tax cuts create jobs. 10 years of Bush tax cuts has put us at the highest unemployment rate, slowest job growth period, and given us the biggest debt in American history.
Yeah, maybe the rich aren''t rich enough yet, I bet those jobs are getting created any day now.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
