Religion: What is your stance on gay marriage and why?

It should be legalized. In fact, all drugs that have little chance of causing death should be legalized and taxed. The number of issues this would solve is beyond number.

1.) This would not only save money, but it would make money from the taxation. The total savings and earnings would be around $200 billion a year. 2.) It would clear out non-violent drug offenders from our prison system.

3.) It would take billions away from the criminal element. Also leading to less people in prison and a less stressed police force. Do you realize that upon starting the war on drugs, THAT is when the US went from being average in number of people in prison to having more people in prison than CHINA!?!?!

China has >4 times our population. 4.) Legalization causes the drugs to be safer since what is in the drugs can be controlled. Given that the amount of drugs and drug users in no lower than in locations that have legalized the drugs, AND that the street value is actually less than the cost at say Amsterdam, this would inherently SAVE lives.

We are currently spending $200 billion a year, imprisoning a higher percentage of the population than the rest of the world, causing severe damage to our neighbors to the south (with the drug lords).... all for what? Just to SAY marijuana is illegal. We are NOT reducing the amount of people who use drugs and we are not even increasing the cost of drugs.

How is this worth the cost? And BTW, I don't use marijuana. Heck, I don't even smoke cigarettes.

I bugs me how so many on this forum simply assume everyone on here is either Christian or Atheist. There are Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Pagans of all kinds, Agnostics and Deists on here. Why are things just asked without prelude?

In answer, I find nothing wrong with recreational marijuana. It is proving to be a Huge source of income for the states that have allowed it, and studies being conducted are showing a Decrease in crime in most cases.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
