You can apply for small business exemption - meaning you won't need the accounts to be audited. For most businesses, an accountant is worth employing as he will save more than his fees (c £200) and some of his fees are tax allowable anyway.
There is nothing that says you need an accountant if you are a small business, however to ensure that you are tax efficient, and paying as little as you can then a good accountant should save you their fee plus quite a bit. When I first set up in business I made the mistake of going to a fixed price low cost "accountant" and it ended up costing me £1000s. Now my current accountant is not cheep, but more than pays for his costs.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
