Replaced bottom element on GE oven - element does not heat up. What am I missing?

Replaced bottom element on GE oven - element does not heat up. What am I missing? Paid $50 buck for new element - easy to replace, but doesn't work.

The previous element blew up - split into two pieces - one section blew out. Is there a breaker that needs to be reset? Thanks,Brian Asked by BSACompass 25 months ago Similar questions: Replaced bottom element GE oven heat missing Food & Drink > Cooking.

The Replaced bottom element on GE oven - element does not heat up I would be looking at the bake relay on teh coven control board. Using a voltage meter test the output voltage when energizing the bake feature. Be sure to remove the bake element wire coming from the bake element to the control.

Test this terminal without the bake element wire attached. From the terminal with one meter probe to the neutral on the terminal block (where your cord attaches to), you should read 110 volts when energized and 0 voltge when shut off. What are you reading?

If I can help further, I am here.....The oven was taking a long time (up to half an hour) to get up to the set temperature say 350 degrees. After looking at the oven it appeared that the bottom heating was not heating at all. I replaced this element but this new element only sometimes works, mostly not at all.

The oven does eventually get to the preset temp but it appears to only use the broiler element to do it. The broil function works and the broiler element works. Would this be an issue with Control unit (WB27X10311) on the top of the oven where the oven turns on?

Thanks for any help. Comments:Feb 15, 2009- I checked the voltage from the control board to the neutral using a voltage meter and there was no voltage when testing it. I used a bake setting on the oven to energize.

Does this mean the entire control board needs replaced or just a relay that is on this board? This unit looks like an integrated item. Same ProblemMar 01, 2009- GE JBP 78W I get a momentary flash of voltage to bottom element when oven control turned on.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
