One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle is Campagne near Pike Place Market. Its a French Bistro - you'll love it! This is my *favorite* restaurant in Seattle.

Hands down. It is a classic French bistro serving great French comfort food. I've gone here many times and love it each time.

The ambience has a nice french bistro feel, with wooden floors, tables and chairs, warm lighting, and mirrors on the walls so you can people watch as if you were dining in Paris - i've been there too ;o) The prices are not super expensive, but it's not cheap either. Favorite things that I love on their menu include: Escargots de Bourgogne Wild Burgundy snails roasted with parsley, garlic and shallot butter $9 Cassoulet Southwest French white bean stew with lamb, pork, duck confit and garlic sausage $19 Make sure you go to the Cafe Campagne and not the Campagne restaurant, which is also excellent, however its more expensive and a bit more formal. Below are some accolades they received from various magazines: "Exquisite food that's treated as respectfully as the customers... Whatever route you take to Campagne, a great evening is assured." - Zagat Survey "One of the best restaurants in America." - Jim Harrison, Esquire "My favorite restaurant in Seattle.

" - Corby Kummer, The Atlantic "Anyone who likes French food should check out this romantic spot...proof that the produce of the rainy Pacific Northwest (sold across the street at the Pike Place Market) lends itself to the cuisine of sunny southern France. " - Bon Appétit "Campagne is the kind of restaurant that, once you've dined there and later hear its name, you smile at the memory. The food, the setting, the service and the atmosphere are all equal partners that revolve around the skill and warmth of the creative chef.

Matt's in the Market My favorite restaurant in all of Seattle is Matt's in Market, across the street and up a staircase in an unlikely-seeming place. It's TINY - make a reservation - and try to sit at the counter if you can, the chefs will appreciate this and chat you up. Amazing, incredible, awesome food, and worth flying to Seattle for.

Good desserts too! chowhound.com/topics/14356?query=matt's%... chowhound.com/topics/13984?query=matt's%... chowhound.com/topics/15924?query=matt's%... http://www.chowhound.com/topics/313329?query=matt's%20on%20the%20market Sources: chowhound.com/topics/14356?query=matt's%... .

There is always Le Panier French bakery: Bread, Croissants, Coffee Early morning aromas wafting onto the sidewalk outside ... a cozy venue for buttery croissants--almond, chocolate, raspberry, brioche--and a cafe de maison. Enjoy a delicious baguette sandwich for lunch. Take home a crisp baguette or wholesome grain bread.

For a lovely dessert, choose from classic chocolate eclairs, beautiful fruit tartes, or our widely popular macaroons. All this and more baked fresh daily with the finest ingredients at Le Panier. Location: At the corner of Stewart Street & Pike Place Hours: Mon - Sat 7 am - 6 pm; Sunday 8 am - 5 pm and my favorite.... Mr. D's Greek Delicacies Lamb Yeeros, Baklava, Greek Imports & Foods Mr. D's specializes in lamb yeeros, homemade baklava and fine Greek dips/spreads.

Those are all great suggestions. As a side note, I'll point out that you'll sound like a Seattle native if you remember that the name of the place is Pike Place Market (because it's on Pike Place at the foot of Pike Street). There's no apostrophe-S; that's Pike's Peak in Colorado.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
