Ronald Reagan Raised the Debt Ceiling 19 Times, Bush Raised it 9 times? Why are Republicans acting like this?

The number of times it has been raised is not the only factor. In fact, it is irrelevant. What matters is our ability to repay it.

Here is the current situation: http://blog.heritage.org/2010/02/05/past... The current administration has borrowed more money than all the previous administrations combined and spent it. An analogy would be if your family had one credit card with a 3 thousand dollar limit when your income was twenty thousand dollars and you got a limit increase to 10 thousand dollars when your income was fifty thousand dollars. The fact that you had more credit (debt limit) is relative to your ability to pay it back.

Now imagine you have an income of 80 thousand dollars and a credit limit of 80 thousand dollars but you have maxed all of your cards out. Is the solution to apply for more credit or stop spending money you don't have?

Reagan and HW Bush signed legislation with raises to the debt ceiling with false promises from the Democrats for spending cuts.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
