The problem is that you haven't created anything via 'new'. Essentially you are playing with the classes instead of the objects. ToolbarDemo.views.

DetailPanel is a Class and not an Panel Object therefore you have to create it before you are able to use it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
