For those who know their politics; and understand that politics is a game largely based behind the scenes, you would come to realize that Hubpages does play to a certain political agenda. It's more subtle and they hide it particularly better than most, but it's there, with a side order dish of bias. Already I've seen some of my favourite authors vanish.
I've vanished at multiple points myself and have often debated coming back.
Hubpages has went way down hill since I joined a little over a year ago. So many questions get removed and stupidity and ignorance seem to be the quota on here now. Some of my favorite authors rarely write on here anymore and I understand why they don't.
I can't see myself continueing on here much longer either.
Frog Prince is loud and extreme. He is like a Glenn Beck of Hubpages and for whatever reasons there seem to be huge packs of people hungry for that type of crazy sauce. The problem isn't that Frog doesn't make some good points, it is that no debate EVER takes place in Froggyland, where you are either correct and conservative or a liberal piece of dung.
THAT isn't politics. That is just dogma and would more properly belong in the religious section. The fact that liberals tend to be more reasonable and less likely to attract rabid fans is a GOOD thing in my opinion.
Whatever the political bent of Hubpages may be, it certainly isn't entirely one-sided and I would hate for anyone who advocates a message of tolerance and cooperation to abandon the airwaves to the likes of those who spew vitriol and intolerance.
DonDWest, it's actually not all that subtle when an article refers to President Obama as Pretender in Chief yet wins an award on HubPages as some sort of a political contribution. I'll read any critical analysis of President Obama that's based on facts. But once the name calling starts (and right in the first paragraph of a hub), it's no longer a political analysis. It's an article of sour grapes.
Looking from afar it is interesting reading opinions from Americans who aren't brainwashed by the main stream media. While you may not agree with his writing style it is designed to illicit a response which in the long run can only be healthy. Debate is important and necessary surely!
Have you read all of The Frog Prince's output? I find his hubs well written, erudite and interesting. Or would you rather he just regurgitate the party line, like that has done the US any good!
Personally I find it refreshing to read something other than "dating advice, when should I lose my virginity, is he/she right for me blah, blah, blah nonsense". Without interesting political hubs this site is just a column from a teen magazine, vacuous and dull! As regards the political stance of Hubpages that is an interesting point.
I have posted questions before about the con that is the banking system only to find them disappear into a black hole. Maybe I should just ask for dating advice!
Yet this is not only about Kadima. If there is one thing that Israelis can learn from the new, disgraceful alliance between Netanyahu and Mofaz, it is this: We must sober up from our centrist dream. Just like an apartment in a luxury tower, the latest smartphone, or an all-inclusive vacation, many Israelis fantasize about (and then vote for) a nice political Center that would aim to secure everything without shaking up anything or angering anyone.
Yet the successful scheme early Tuesday is the ultimate proof of the infeasibility of this imaginary notion of “Center.” A citizen who wishes to see his or her representatives remaining true to their principles is hereby requested to pick a side: Right, Left, or something else that is blatantly clear; a side that will remain consistent, even if pragmatic, not “flexible” beyond nausea, not volatile, not opportunistic, and not deceptive. This isn’t complicated at all; are we clear?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
