Most carriers will fight you fed ex, ups, freight carriers will fight you on this... I ship numerous things and declare the values. When I put a claim in they pick me apart on the packaging... saying it wasn't to their required specs. They also know that declared value is usually the retail value and to most shippers the value is significantly less.

Claim the full amount and they will negociate with you. If you start with just a portion you will have a hard time getting the amount back. Also make sure you don't pay that freight bill..

Usually You'd better read the fine print on the insurance form. If it's worth their while, they'll send out an insurance adjuster/investigator. They may be quite reasonable, but be prepared to not get the full amount if there is any way he can show you have not lost the full amount..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
