I believe that anyone who is on welfare relief for long and continuous periods should be examined by a doctor to certify their inability to perform work. If they can work, then the doctor may state any restrictions. Then we have to solve the problem of "how do they work?
, which is even more difficult that asking if they will work. Can we expect that the federal government or the state government (whoever the provider) will find a job for the person within the government? If they are put into private industry, there either has to be a business need for them in that particular business or they are placed there on a "grant" by the government.
Well, if your business has workers provided by the government, why shouldn't mine? Especially if we are competitors in the free market with similiar products. Now the woman with six kids can work for what she receives but there is no one to watch her kids while she is at work.
The cost of putting her six kids in day care exceeds the value of the paycheck so she would be just as well off to stay home and let the welfare stop. Here's my point, I don't think anyone should be getting anything free for any long period of time but, as you can see with these examples, finding an effective method to make them "earn" their keep is no small feat. WB.
Yes they should work. It has two benefits, it will improve the health conditions of the people themselves and also make society a better place to live. They should take social responsibility.
Yes they should. It drives me crazy how little is expected of people on assistance .
Yes they should be required to work for the checks. And something good may come from it, like; a full-time job...
Wayne Brown made a good comment. Some people do lack the ability to work. But, I believe that number is very small.
Why do some folks in a wheel chair or mentally retarded (not sure that is politically correct) work and others who have a little back ache not. I have significant pain everyday and work my butt off. Anyway, there is a job for almost everyone.
I'll put some of those lazy bums to work. They can work off the groceries I bought. I can never find anyone to help me.
People complain about not finding work. There is plenty out there.
In some states able-bodied welfare recipients are required to work for their checks. On the federal level, welfare is time-limited. People can no longer stay on the program throughout their lives.
There is no question, there are people who take advantage of the program...the same is true of every program. I have less objection to children being fed than I have to millionaires receiving subsidies, abusive foster parents being paid or corporations (who refuse to create employment opportunities) receiving tax refunds.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
