I felt good right after I left the dentist office because the pain had gone away. My dentist told me that he saw a lil pink spot but if it won't bother me then I should be fine for my permanent filling. I came back 7 weeks later for my filling but I ended up with 2 stitches because my gum got infected and he cleaned out infected area.
I brushed my teeth, took medication, and did everything I could to keep my mouth clean. I came back 3 weekslater, he tried to get my tooth pulled bc the infected area was not getting any better but I didn't;t let him.My gum was fine b4 I came to him. The infected gum is not on the same side with the cavity.
The pain is long gone and has never come back. Should I get my tooth pulled? Or I should go to another dentist?
He said that I can keep it but I have to pay more but he cant guarantee that it gona get better. I asked him how many percent,,,he said I dunno depend on your body. I feel insecure with this dentist so please give me some advice.

Wisdom teeth can be trouble.......... Both my kids when they were about 19 years old were told to get them out. My daughter had impacted wisdom teeth and my son, the teeth had trouble coming out and they were crouding in the other teeth. So we got them removed. My husband, when he was 65 years old he got an abscess in the roof of his mouth.
The dentist searched and searched only to find out that a wisdom tooth on the other side of the mouth, that looked perfect on the outside but the root was diseased was the cause of this deep infection. Hubby goes twice a year for clean up and keeps his teeth in good condition so that abscess was a big surprise. It is not the dentist fault if you are not allowing him to do what has to be done. Funny that your story is exactly the same as happened to a friend of mine two weeks ago.
She is very controlling and she wants to tell the dentist what to do and when the weekend comes, she is in terrible pain, all swollen and infected. It can be very dangerous. Teeth infections have been cause of heart valve damage and that's why they make people with heart murmurs take antiobiotic before a dental procedure. It is clear that you do not trust the dentist so you should get a new one.
Ask friends to recommend. I also would like to suggest that you find a dentist that does the pop test. It is a test where a very low electrical current passes through the tooth determining if it is past the stage of repair and if you should get a root canal or if the tooth has to be removed.
I read in a newspaper that if you live near an University that has a Dental School that usually their services are wonderful. The dentists are interns that already completed their courses and totally supervised by the best professors. They charge much less than regular dentists and they have the best and modern equipment available..
1 I think you already answered your own question when you said you feel insecure with the dentist. It's never going to hurt to get a second opinion. For what its worth - the wisdom teeth will probably have to come out sooner rather than later, and with all the infections you have my guess would be sooner.

2 I am one who is terrified of the dentist. 2 dentist told me they couldn't pull my wisdom tooth that I would have to go to the hospital to have it done because it was embedded or something like that, anyways I found one who pulled it out in what seemed to be like one second. You need to feel comfortable with your dentist so definitely go find another one.
