If you really want to save significant money on Christmas decorations, the best thing you can do is wait until after Christmas is over and buy for the next year. Many stores offer significant discounts on Christmas lights, decorations and other holiday items the day after Christmas. While it is true that the inventory and options will be much less after Christmas, if you are quick and focused, you can definitely find good deals.

I’ve noticed that things get marked down fairly significantly right after Christmas, but if there are still any remaining items after New Year’s Day, they are often marked down 70+%. While standard items like lights probably won’t make it that long, there will probably be some decorations that you like that will be available either after Christmas and/or New Year’s.
