Should I take my dog to the vet if my dog's neutered incision area is way too swollen or wait a while to see if it heals?

Should I take my dog to the vet if my dog's neutered incision area is way too swollen or wait a while to see if it heals It's been approxiamately a month and a half since my dog got neutered, and his wounds healed up nicely, but just a few days ago, I noticed his incision area is swollen and red. I immediately put his E-collar on and put neosporin on the area. It has now been two days and the swelling has not gone down.

Should I take him to a vet or should I wait a couple more days to see if it heals up by itself (with the help of neosporin)? Asked by tokki 28 months ago Similar questions: dog vet dog's neutered incision area swollen wait heals Pets > Dogs.

Git along little doggie.... This really seems serious - just like we say to people, get to a doctor. This is a long time for something not to be right. And neosporin, unless it is dog-safe, is not the way to go either.

Get the dog seen by a real dog doctor now! .

ASk The Vet Call your vet first thing in the morning. They'll tell you if it's something to worry about.

1 If the surgery was a month ago, he should be close to healed...if I remember correctly. I would at least give the vet a call. Honestly, if it were me, I would take him in.

But please at least call the vet in the morning.

2 I agree, it can never hurt to call the vet.

3 Please call the vet. At least talk to them to ask this question of them. This is plenty of time for the incision to have healed properly.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
