Should I wash my hair with rainwater?

Joliejolie Your granny is right. Rainwater is soft water as it does not contain many of chemicals found in the normal tap water. Normal tap water is hard water, so it doesn’t you’re your hair very well.

Also it does tend to leave the shampoo residue behind. However you should note that it is not completely chemical-free. But these chemicals are not as harsh for you hair as those found in the normal tap water.

This is because here the rainwater gets mixed with the smog and other pollutants. So it ends up losing its efficacy.It will again become hard water.

It depends on how clean your rain water is in your area, it could be full of pollutants, chemicals, even flies. Then there is the issue of how on earth are you going to collect enough to wash, rinse, condition and rinse again, unless you live in an area prone to downpours? I would suggest getting a water filter of some description, you can have them fitted to the water system, or there are filter jugs available, but again this would be time consuming.
