I was your age when I started watching the DB series, it aired after school for about 2 hours when I was in high school. I can't say anything about DBZ Kai since I've never watched it, but "kiddy" wasn't exactly the impression I had. If you have any issues I think it might be the art style isn't the same as say DN or FMA.
The feel and styling is from the 90s with a few nods to 80s anime. The other issue is it is very conventional in plot. Don't expect anything groundbreaking or different about it.
Also it reworks its own plots sometimes.
You'll like it. I suggest watching Dragon Ball first just so you know the whole story but you'll like it. I'm a girl and I'm 18 and I did enjoy it.
There were some things that drove me kind of nuts but everyone my age who is a guy loves it. They have good fight scenes and it's really inspiring. If you do end up liking (which I'm sure you will) I suggest watching Hunter x Hunter.
Just for another anime :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
