I think Pete Rose should make the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on the baseball field. He is the all time hits leader with 4,256. That alone should qualify him for the Hall of Fame.
He did his time, has been banned from all Major League Baseball activities for many years. People do less time in jail for serious offenses than Rose has been banned from baseball. People from the steroid era of baseball such as Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmiero and others are not getting votes because of their use of banned substances to cheat and enhance their performance.
That is completely different from what Rose did. Yes he did bet on games, but that did not affect or enhance his performance on the field. Furthermore he bet on his team to win, never to lose, so it's not as if he threw games. It's time for Rose to be elected amongst the best players to ever play Major League Baseball.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
