Should the government only provide the minimum services to their people without any services or programs to help the unfortunate?

I am mixed on the subject. I think the government should help those who truly need it, but make it a donation type funding. Requiring everyone to pay for everyone else makes this in a way a dictatorship country.

They could also use some of the money they make from loans to help pay that cost. No matter what though I do believe that there needs to be random drug testing on a monthly basis and proof that they are working on bettering this position not just "eating steak on the state". They also cannot get pregnant while on government suppot.

I say this because o know someone who had 3 kids while barely able to stay afloat on her own then once she started receiving government assistance she went and had 2 more kids. (might I add she owes me $500).

For the purposes of this answer, I will assume you are referring to a federal government and not state or local governments. In a democracy or republic such as the United States or much of Europe, these matters are ultimately decided by the people, even if indirectly through their representatives. What a government should or shouldn't do is up to the citizens to decide.

Many would argue differently when it comes to the U.S. federal government, that it is there to only do the minimum and the rest is left to the state or local governments or charities. This approach sounds good on paper, but often how the unfortunate are helped will vary by locations and then others from other locations might feel that it is inadequate... then they turn to a larger governmental body to help out. In the end, the people collectively decide if they want their government to step in and help; this may come from each person's view of what is right and moral, but collectively, a majority will emerge and decide.

If they decide not to help and the only have the government do the minimum, then private citizens will either have to pick up the slack or tolerate problems such as homelessness and the like.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
