What basic services should a municipal government provide?

Just look at all the failed programs now in place. It certainly tells you what government should not be doing. Let's see... almost 50% of the country in on social welfare and they are still poor.

That is surely breaking class barriers! Look at Greece, Spain, England, France, and the rest of the EU. All countries going broke and will lots of civil unrest.

Problem is they ran of of people who work and pay taxes to support their welfare states. Even Rome fell when it's government strangled its people. The English Sterling was the standard until they decided to provide free healthcare after WWII.In the 1970s the Sterling finally fell and the dollar became the standard.

Now the dollar is failing. Could it be the same mistakes all over again? The bottom line is somebody has to pay for it and in a social state there is no one to pay.

Because not even the hardcore socialist wants to work for nothing. After all he has to eat too. The less government does the empowered is the citizen.

Basically I would think it would be whatever most of the people in that municipal community decides it wants provided.

A social welfare state is the way forward. Bring down the class barriers for a standard of living that is above the poverty line.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
