Last I knew he had become a friend and ally of the West, doesn't say much for our regard for friendship. I'm not going to lose any sleep over his death but it proves we can show a high degree of barbarity ourselves. I thought everyone was supposed to be entitled to a fair and free trial.
Yes I did feel 'sorry' for him, and I don't want to feel sorry for him, but I am only human and those pictures were absolutely disgusting. We pride ourselves on being civilised in the west, and teach that it is wrong, illegal, to kill, bad to hit someone because they annoyed you, etc. The way they killed him, and the pictures and videos that are coming out are having the effect of making people pity a man they should despise. I cant understand how someone could look at any human being in pain like that and feel at least some empathy...quite frightening if you don't feel something actually.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
