Should we decide to elope?

While the majority of couples look forward to a formal wedding ceremony, some choose to forgo all of the expense and time commitment, and elope instead. Eloping is something the bride and groom alone should decide on. Usually the couple elopes when they can't afford a wedding and reception, or when the wedding plans are taken over by other family members and are not what the bride and groom want. Other reasons may be that the couple feels the need to get married in a hurry, or may have immediate family who objects to the marriage.As far as telling others that's up to you, however if it is a secret from some people, you are unfairly putting that responsiblity on those you do tell.

Think about it carefully. Dads sometimes dream about walking their daughters down the isle, and moms very much want to help plan and see their daughter in the wedding gowns. Overall they want to be there.
