Interesting. Of course those who don't like football (not myself) will have to pick up the slack, should they be allowed to slouch when the SuperBowl is on? Or Rugby WC?
Don't get me wrong, I hate missing football, but if you cannot get the time off, pulling a sickey is not the answer. Having said that, daft times for games just highlights how the game should be getting played elsewhere, without that bloody noise. TV on mute for me.
Before I retired to look after my wife, my employer used to give us time off to watch the England games. We were given the choice of unpaid leave or flexi working, I think it was a good move because it avoided sickies and it was controlled, he knew when people were going to be there and when there would be a reduced labour force.
Yes, because it will be the only time they get to watch it live in their life meaning its very important if you do not half of them will just lie say their sick and go watch it.
I agree with moderdays however the employer does have a business to run so it is no good to him if most of his staff are down the pub and if the staff pull a sicky he/she will know.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
