Some people define evil as causing harm. What harm does the "sins" in Christianity cause?

As one with an interest in anthropology I tend to agree with you about the self imposed ignorance displayed by many fundamentalists. I constantly ask creationist to give me some real evidence to support their views, but get nothing but insults for questioning their faith. The Bible is considered to be the absolute truth & proof their views are correct, but they can't produce supporting evidence verifying the information in the Bible.

The Moses story has absolutely no supporting evidence among ancient Egyptian writings & the Egyptians were consummate record keepers. I would expect some records of a massive exodus of the slave population as this would have had a crushing effect on the economy of the country. Working backward from the Exodus we run into the creation story and World wide flood which was written before we knew about the Tasmanian Devil, Kangaroo & Kaholla in Australia.

It seems the creationists ignore these facts, but faith by definition requires no evidence. Edit for Jason: 1: Plate tektonics is moving the continents around at a few inches to feet per century... this causes earthquakes when they rub against each other or actually collide. Therefore sea bottoms are pushed up to form mountains and some land tends to disappear sometimes.

The Alps are actually part of the African plate that collided with Europe many millions of years ago. 2: THe grand canyon was formed when a large lake broke through its bank & formed the river we see today. I could go on refuting your arguements with evidence but doubt this would do any good.

I suggest a few books on biology would be interesting reading for you. For a person to accept your World view requires them to scrap the last 100 years of scientific inquiry in the fields of Geology, Biology, Anthropology & even Astronomy. Ask yourself how those animals we find in New Zealand & Australia got from mount Ararat to the remote continent of Australia without leaving some indication of previous existance in Europe or Asia... they are not good swimmers.

Sorry but I didn't read any more than the first "enabler for atheism"! There is no enabler that could hurt any atheist we know the truth we didn't make up a story like theists do! No gods or devils exist anywhere outside of any ones properly inculcated minds!

Inculcation starts in the womb by the parents and continues on until the brainwashed person can think, now if the brainwashing is properly and consistently applied, the only way to freedom of thought is through exorcism or asking questions, proper brainwashing techniques leave only exorcism! The human mind is extremely susceptible to hallucination due to this practice, so that is the reason they tell you, you need faith! They mean you need to pretend or fake it, because there is no faith of imaginary thoughts, faith lies in the proven results of past practice not in ones imagination!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
